Thanksgiving 2007

I ventured across Illinois and Iowa and a bit of Nebraska to get home for thanksgiving. I'm thankful I'm closer but its still an 8 hour drive! The way home was a little annoying cause it started snowing in Des Moines. At first I was giddy but that quickly changed due to road conditions and traffic! Thanksgiving with the family was good. I ran a 2 mile with Christina in 22 degree wx and flurries, brrrrr! The rest of the days I hung out with family and then visited Melissa in O'Neill. The drive back was pretty boring but not as bad as going to NE!

Yippy SNOW!!!

.......more snow....

.....go away snow!

Jack Ingram & Dierks Bentley!!!!!!

Leslie and I ventured off to Springfield IL last night to see Jack Ingram and Dierks Bentley and it was awesome! I've been to my fair share of concerts and I think this almost ties with the best concert ever. Kenny still is the best...but this is very very close. Anyway, I bought the tickets and I went with general admission, the standing crowd. And if you want to be close, this is the way to go. We got what I wanted...close! I also have to say that I love smaller venues. You can't get that kind of experience in a huge arena unless you pay an arm and a leg for tickets. Even then the stage is still 10 feet away. I haven't been that close in a concert since Kenny I believe.

Jack Ingram was great. I've been a fan for awhile and never got to see him in concert. Then Dierks just rocked the place. He was extremely good! I've seen him 2 other times, the first time about 4 years ago when he just came out, then one other time at the college world series. They had a little platform that went out about 10ft from the stage and I told Leslie that I bet he would go over there and he did. Thats when we snuck in very very close. We were only one person back from the railing. We were so close we could touch him...and I did! So on my list now is Kenny, Dierks and I got to touch Jack Ingram as well. Yes, I realize I sound completely stupid but it was awesome! Anyway, for the last song Jack came out and sang with Dierks and that was great. It was an awesome concert and so worth the drive!

1st 5K in Champaign

Today I ran my 1st 5k here in Champaign. My friend from work, Leslie, ran it with me. It was her first race ever and she did really good, she finished in 27mins which kicked my butt of 33mins. But thats ok, we all know I'm slow and I'll be the first to say it.

On Saturday while the huskers were getting their a$$es handed to them, I went shopping. I ended up buying a washer and dryer!!! Now this is my first BIG purchase, sadly enough, I'm 26. But I'm pretty pumped about it. It should serve me well and now I don't have to deal with the laundry room. I get it delivered on Tuesday, yippy! So last night my other friend from work, Becky, and I were supposed to go speed dating! I know, its a real thing, not just on the movies. But they canceled it and that kinda of bummed me out. I just wanted to see what it was like. I guess they didn't have enough people, I'm assuming guys. Oh well I guess, but it would of been fun. Instead I went to BW3's with Leslie and her bf and some of his friends to watch the Illini game. At least they didn't suffer the worst loss in school history. And on that note, I just can't believe what has happened to Nebraska football. It's almost heartbreaking how quickly it went downhill. Horrible. And from growing up in the 90's and now this...its like night and day. I never thought I'd see this sort of loss to KANSAS...KANSAS!!!!! Oh how the times have changed. I just want the season to be done, now.

Anyway, here are some photos from the weekend.
