Melissa and me in DC

I am trying to figure out how to post pictures on the blog but it is being stubborn so Melissa and I are doing the blog together.

For the weekend we would like to acknowledge a few items and stops that made our weekend.

1. The newly found bar in Bethesda...called Caddies. It is an indoor/outdoor/rooftop (Shelley's fav) bar. They even played a little country music!

2. "The book": Our tour guide book was most helpful. This book took us everywhere, found every metro stop and anything in between. As you can see, the book was all over DC!

3. Accident by the Archives: we were sitting outside the National Archives trying to figure out the next stop (via the book) when we heard a screeeeeeeccccchhhhhhhh and BOOM! Yup, it was a three vehicle accident, but don't worry, everyone was ok and got out of the vehicles and were hugging.

4. The weather: while everyone back in Nebraska was freezing their butts off, we were enjoying 60-65 degree weather. This included walking around in t shirts, light jackets and flip flops! Oh global warming.

5. The nights of nothingness: We were pretty much lazy pieces of crap a couple nights and it was well worth it. It included "10 things I hate about you" and "Bridget Jones Diary", Melissa stayed up for "Groundhog Day"...Shelley went to bed.

6. The funny pictures: Shelley trying to open the doors at the dept of Justice. Melissa "breaking" the metro bench. Us reading the "book" at various landmarks.

7. Melissa's Nebraska shirt: We were walking around downtown and some guy stopped Melissa and asked her if she was from Nebraska or just a fan. He was from Iowa. We were also waiting to get into the National Archives and the guy in front of us went to Lincoln Southeast High School, his football coach was Frank Solich....good ol Frank.

So that about wraps it up...we saw the Washington Monument, Capitol, WWII memorial, Lincoln memorial, Korean, Vietnam, the National Mall, White House, Arlington Cemetery, Pentagon and many many metro stops.

PS. MORE PHOTOS LATER.
